Deze kleine Drieteenstrandloper (Calidris alba) dribbelde er heel snel over heen, alsof het te heet onder z’n 6 teentjes was…. Het unieke aan deze soort strandloper is dat hij de achterteen mist, dus 3 tenen in plaats van 4, vandaar de naam. Overwinteren doet deze zaagbek op een niet te ruwe zee. Ik zag (en fotografeerde) dit mannelijk exemplaar dan ook aan de zeezijde van de Brouwersdam. Het mannetje heeft een mooie groene kop waarvan de veren vaak verwilderd omhoog staan (daar is iig geen kam door gehaald). Een fel rood oog contrasteert…
